I have a degree in English Literature from the University of Manchester and I completed my vocational legal training at The City Law School, and Inns of Court School of Law. I was called to the Bar in 1998 at Inner Temple.
My legal work
Before becoming a coach and trainer, I practised in family law and crime as a barrister for 22 years. I was fortunate to have numerous entries in Chambers during my career.
It was as a result of years of exposure to distressing and sensitive material and vulnerable clients within my practice, that I began to wonder about the impact upon me. I looked for resources to help me to manage the nature of the work but found nothing. The training and collaborations in which I have engaged have given me the tools to regulate and de-brief effectively when working with distressing material/vulnerable clients. It is clear to me that these resources are much needed in many settings.
I am proud to work with Rebecca in bringing awareness and providing support in relation to this extremely important workplace issue. At the heart of our work is a passion to safeguard the well-being of those who work hard to tackle the most challenging aspects of human nature.
