Bridging Humanity
and Legal Practice
At Trauma Informed Law our mission is to:
equip, empower and support
individuals, teams, and businesses
navigating trauma-based responses
in connection with the legal system
At its heart, the law is about people.
But, at times, the legal system can feel detached and impersonal, overshadowing the humanity of those involved. Lawyers, clients, judges, non-legal professionals, witnesses and parties to legal proceedings - we all bring our essential human-ness into this space. Part of the human-ness can involve things feeling a little messy.
Trauma is increasingly recognised in our society. Adopting trauma-informed approaches is essential for maintaining the integrity of our legal system and ensuring the safety of all involved. Yet, the legal system and the people within it are often under-equipped to navigate trauma effectively.
Trauma Informed Law was created to address this gap.
We bring over 35 years of legal experience and more than 20 years of expertise working with trauma and distress, integrating science-based somatic coaching with a deep understanding of trauma. Supported by a team of highly skilled collaborators and consultants, we prioritise safety and integrity in the way we work.
